Rishworth Wall & Mathieson

This project involved the addition of a detached building on the site of an existing legal office. The new building was linked to the existing building with a large covered deck that incorporated a new entry and office hub.

The two buildings open into an existing tropical garden that provides a seasonally changing backdrop to the office environment.

"An extension to a suburban office in an existing house has been transformed by the simple move of creating the office addition as a separate building.
The space between new and old forms the entryway, leading to the new reception, and helps to create an architectural dialogue between the buildings.
Inside, the feel is almost that of a domestic house that has been converted into an office, tying into the existing house-turned-office building and creating a relaxed office environment. Ultimately, this is a positive contribution to the street and achieved on a modest budget."
